Finding the Right Soccer Program

Choosing the best program for your child’s needs and goals is essential for their growth and enjoyment. Use this guide to determine where your child fits based on their age, skill level, and soccer ambitions.

RDT Soccer

Where to Start

We recommend that most players begin with our Grassroots Soccer Training, which runs during the winter (October–April) and summer (May–July). This program builds a strong foundation in soccer skills, teamwork, and confidence.

For those looking to supplement their league experience, our Futsal Program is an excellent option. It’s designed to enhance ball control, speed, and quick decision-making in a fun, indoor environment.

Which Program Is Best for Your Child?

Grassroots Soccer Training

Best for:

  • Children aged 4–12 who are new to soccer or still developing their basic skills.
  • Players who want a balance of skill-building and team play in a fun environment.

Recommendation:

Start here if your child is just beginning their soccer journey or wants to enjoy a structured, developmental program.

Advanced Training

Best for:

  • Players who have a solid soccer foundation and want to focus on technical improvement.
  • Children excelling in Grassroots Soccer and looking for more challenging opportunities.

What to Expect:

  • Advanced Training emphasizes body mechanics, conditioning, and technical skills.
  • This program is ideal for driven players who want to level up their performance but does not focus on game play or tactical training.

Futsal Training

Best for:

  • Children aged 8–11 who are already part of RDT’s Grassroots or Advanced Training programs, or another organization’s training program, and want to refine their skills.
  • Players looking for a fast-paced environment to improve ball control and agility.

What to Expect:

  • A great supplemental program to league play.
  • Fun, indoor sessions to develop quick decision-making and dynamic gameplay.
